CMM

ModuleWorks provides a range of tools that can enhance Metrology and CMM software. The advanced 3 and 5-axis libraries provide efficient gouge and collision free cycles for measurement and inspection of complex surfaces with minimal air moving.

The ModuleWorks simulation components can model and verify probe movements whether on a CMM, Machine Tool or Robot. Rapid collision detection is available for all the moving parts of the machine based on original CAD data with no simplification required. The simulation libraries can be linked to the controller or run directly on a PC-based controller offering live virtual look ahead to prevent collisions as the machine is being run.

For probing and verification on the machine tool the ModuleWorks material removal component can be used to provide a highly accurate in-process stock model that can be used to compare with measurement results from the machine after each cycle in the cutting process. This increases measurement options on complex jobs with smoothly curving surfaces such as impellers, blisks and engine ports.

Software bridges are provided to the widely used solid modelling libraries ACIS, Parasolid and OpenCascade, making evaluation and integration fast and easy.
