VANC selects ModuleWorks as CAM components partner

VANC selects ModuleWorks for 5-Axis machining

ModuleWorks, the leading supplier of CAD/CAM components for 3-5-Axis toolpath generation and simulation have confirmed their partnership with CAD/CAM Solution provider, VANC to provide state-of-the art CAM toolpath and simulation components for the VANC product range.

VANC has a rich history in the CAD/CAM industry with a track record of success going back over 35 years to 1975 with Austria and Germany as main markets. VANC provides a wide range of CIM solutions. ECS (Engineering Center Steyr located in Austria as part of MAGNA) has a long time practical experience in the CAD/CAM field. They are reseller of CAM-Software as well as developer of the VANC product.

With the growing usage of solid CAD Software VANC customers expressed their demand of 3-5 Axis simultaneous machining capabilities. When VANC in 2009 was searching for a 5-Axis machining component, they recognized the potential of 5-axis machining within the CAM-Software products they were reselling (using ModuleWorks 5-Axis). So it was natural for them not to reinvent the wheel, saving expensive development costs and find a partner with a long time experience in this field and excellent integration tools in ModuleWorks. The newly developed 3-Axis product was also a good opportunity to enhance VANCs existing 3-Axis capabilities.

After a short period of integration the 5-Axis and the 3-Axis products were launched in May 2011 and initial reaction to the new product was extremely positive. VANC will work with ModuleWorks to continually enhance the product with new 3-5 Axis capabilities added at each release.

VANC have now begun work with the ModuleWorks simulation component. This extremely flexible component will be adjusted to VANC needs and gives the customer the first time opportunity to simulate their machine environment and kinematics having control over possible collisions. The product will be available in the next VANC release.

Benefits

The key benefits of the partnership between VANC and ModuleWorks are:

    - New VANC functionality

    - Short integration time

    - Fair pricing conditions

    - Keeps development team small

    - 4 monthly release enhancements from ModuleWorks implemented within a day

    - Well organized error report management in ModuleWorks.

And this results in a great value product for the customers of VANC.
