The research and development project “Freeform forging 4.0 – CAM application for interactive planning of forging processes.” is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) as part of the Central Innovation Programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (ZIM) under project no. “ZU4286503LP7” and is supervised by the project management agency AIF.

Details

The aim of Freiformschmiede 4.0 project is to develop a process planning tool for the freeform forging of complex geometries. To achieve this, an interactive toolpath planning tool will be developed to enable users to simulate and plan the whole forging process. The computer-aided planning tool is expected to result in reduced planning time, material reduction, cost savings, easier quality testing and faster serial production.
