October 1, 2010

ModuleWorks, the leading supplier of CAD/CAM components for toolpath generation and simulation, has launched a new component focussed on the dental industry. A new webpage highlights the benefits of the dental solution and shows how ModuleWorks technology can be used in dental CAD/CAM systems to manufacture copings, bridges, crowns, inlays and abutments.

The new ModuleWorks dental industry webpage offers a downloadable factsheet, worked example and video which outline the features of their 3-5 Axis machining and simulation components for the dental industry. A free online demonstration is also available and can be requested directly from .

The dental industry has seen rapid growth in the use of CAD/CAM techniques for dental for the manufacture of crowns, veneers, bridges and dental implants. Toolpath generation and Simulation are key elements in the CAM process; 3-Axis and 5-Axis milling used to machine the components, while simulation helps to validate the process and ensure right first time.

David Plater, Technical Director for ModuleWorks comments “We’re seeing a lot of interest for our machining and simulation technology in the dental arena and a number of our partners are providing solutions specific to rapidly growing market – our industry specific pages show how different vertical markets can be addressed with our machining and simulation components”.
