THE ROLE
Our 5-person HR team in Aachen is looking for a successor for a colleague who will be retiring soon. You’ll step into a role where you’ll take on responsibility quickly and learn a lot fast. You’ll keep HR running clearly, correctly, and service-oriented day to day: inquiries, contracts, employee master data, absences, and reporting. And if you’re up for it, you can actively help make HR more digital and simple (workflows, automation, meaningful AI use cases).
Location: Aachen, Germany | Hybrid: 4 days on-site / 1 day remote
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Salary Range: €36,000 – €45,000 gross p.a. (based on relevant experience & qualifications)
Start: As soon as possible
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- HR Operations: Handle administrative tasks across the full employee lifecycle (hire to exit) – with a structured onboarding and full backup from the team.
- First Point of Contact: Triage employee inquiries and drive clear resolutions, independently or with team support.
- Data Quality: Maintain HR master data and the HR intranet.
- Insights: Build stats, reports, and dashboards on HR topics for internal and external stakeholders.
- Employee Experience: Analyze and improve processes (how can we make things simpler, more digital, faster, more user-friendly?).
- Grow Your Scope: Depending on your interests, support recruiting, L&D, employer branding, and/or HR projects – and steadily build new skills.
- Tools & Tech You’ll Use: Personio, Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, DocuSign.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Solid Foundation: Commercial/applied training or a relevant degree – what really counts is structured, careful, service-oriented work.
- Communication Chops: You resolve things clearly, kindly, and reliably.
- Hands-on Mindset: You follow through, chase loose ends, and land the plane.
- Growth Drive: You want to develop – and move HR forward with us.
- Digital Mindset: Comfortable in an IT environment; you enjoy tools, systems, and “working digital”.
- Nice to Have: First practical HR experience; relevant training (e.g., German HR certifications, coaching, etc.); Personio know-how; interest in automation/AI at work.
- Language: German & English at least B2 – lots of German locally; English regularly in tools, docs, and cross-border collaboration.
